Community music gatherings are events hosted by the store in Oakville with the aim to help customers grow closer to each other. It doesn’t matter what kind of people attend. We all share a common hobby: music. We hope to spread the love of music far past our local community with the help of our customers.
Why?
At PCV Records, we care deeply about our customers. Being a local record store, our focus is not to sell records to one-time customers, but to create a community of music lovers who can come together and enjoy themselves. The best way to do this is by hosting community events. These events will attract people who are looking to bond with the community. Whether it would be through common music taste or the general love for music, there will be several opportunities for customers to meet like-minded people. We plan on hosting a variety of community events.
What kind of community music gatherings?
An example would be local performances. We will be reaching out to local artists to perform at our store every so often. This gives a chance to these artists to expand their fan base. Additionally, customers have the chance to be introduced to new music. Given that these artists will mostly be local, local residents have an opportunity to create a deeper bond. As stated before, our goal is not to sell. As such, all local performances will be free for customers. This will encourage more customers to come out to our events and enjoy themselves.
Another community event we plan on hosting is fan signing. We plan on inviting artists that our customers love to our store to host a local fan signing. Customers will be able to interact and speak with artists. Records will be signed and customers will be happy. This will give customers the opportunity to meet their favorite artists at a nearby location, which can be extremely difficult to come by.
We will also be hosting a community exchanging event. Customers can bring in any records and trade with or gift to other customers. This gives customers the opportunity to communicate with each other and expand their music tastes. Some customers may have signed vintage records they are looking to pass on, while others may have perfect conditioned records. Whatever the record may look like, customers are sure to establish lasting relationships with each other.
Record Store Day
Possibly our favorite event would be what we call Record Store Day. On this special day, we giveaway limited edition records to a few lucky customers. These records are extremely rare and hard to get your hands on, and so by giving them to customers, we hope to expand our customer base and bring in new faces.
Don’t miss out!
Customers will not want to miss these events, as we can guarantee it will be a wonderful experience. Please check out our social media pages and website for upcoming events. Our store location and opening hours can also be found on our sites. Even if you are not located in Oakville, come out to our community music gatherings! Please look forward to what we have in store for you. We’ll see you at our community events!

Behind the scenes of Cake Blogs: Red velvet cake is much more than some white tinted cake. This recipe will help you bake your dream red velvet cake.
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
1 cup (240ml) canola or vegetable oil
4 large eggs, room temperature and separated
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
liquid or gel red food coloring
1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, at room temperature
Cream Cheese Frosting
16 ounces (450g) full-fat block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
4 and 1/2 cups (540g) confectioners’ sugar
1 Tablespoon (15ml) heavy cream or milk
1 and 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans, line with parchment paper, then grease the parchment paper. Parchment paper helps the cakes seamlessly release from the pans.
Make the cake: Whisk the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Set aside.
Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed until combined, about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides and up the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. Add the oil, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and vinegar and beat on high for 2 minutes. (Set the egg whites aside.) Scrape down the sides and up the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed.
With the mixer on low speed, add the dry ingredients in 2-3 additions alternating with the buttermilk. Beat in your desired amount of food coloring just until combined. I use 1-2 teaspoons gel food coloring. Vigorously whisk or beat the 4 egg whites on high speed until fluffy peaks form as pictured above, about 3 minutes. Gently fold into cake batter. The batter will be silky and slightly thick.
Divide batter between cake pans: Bake for 30-32 minutes or until the tops of the cakes spring back when gently touched and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the cakes need a little longer as determined by wet crumbs on the toothpick, bake for longer. However, careful not to overbake as the cakes may dry out. Remove cakes from the oven and cool completely in the pans set on a wire rack. The cakes must be completely cool before frosting and assembling.
Make the frosting: In a large bowl using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a whisk or paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese and butter together on medium-high speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add the confectioners’ sugar, cream/milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to high speed and beat for 3 minutes until completely combined and creamy. Add more confectioners’ sugar if frosting is too thin, more milk if frosting is too thick, or an extra pinch of salt if frosting is too sweet. Frosting should be soft, but not runny.
Assemble and frost: Using a large serrated knife, slice a thin layer off the tops of the cakes to create a flat surface. Discard or crumble over finished cake. Place 1 cake layer on your cake stand or serving plate. Evenly cover the top with frosting. Top with 2nd layer and spread remaining frosting all over the top and sides. I always use an icing spatula and bench scraper for the frosting. I used Wilton piping tip #12 for decoration around the top.
Refrigerate cake for at least 30-60 minutes before slicing. This helps the cake hold its shape when cutting.
Cover leftover cake tightly and store in the refrigerator for 5 days. Frosted cake or unfrosted cake layers can be frozen up to 2-3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before decorating/serving (sallysbakingaddiction, 2019).

After an Intense game of hockey, people tend to do many things such as get a craft beer and relax with the teammates, some guys go to Oakville Lakeshore and jump in the lake, and some people have crazy parties after winning the Ontario Championship.
TOP 10 THINGS TO DO AFTER AN INTENSE GAME OF HOCKEY.
1. Grab a cold 24 pack of Craft Beer from your Local Business and Relax with your Teammates!
Are you in Oakville? Or Burlington? It doesn’t matter, Post-Game Beer has the best Craft Beer and it is available all over the GTA. Craft beer in Oakville Ontario is very popular and you could find great Craft Beer in loads of stores.
2. Share your Beer with the Opposing Team!
After a tough game of Hockey, the number one thing you should do is appreciate your opponent, and the best way to do that is to share your favourite Beer with them.
3. Enjoy your Favourite Craft Beer and talk about your Favourite Memories with your Favourite People!
Talk to your friends about growing up in your town (could be Oakville, Bolton, Mississauga, or anywhere in Ontario) while having a cold Craft Beer made by your truly Post-Game Beer.
4. Go to Ontario’s finest selection of Craft Beer and get yourself a 24 pack of Post Game Beer
You live in Oakville? No problem, go to your local LCBO or Beer Store. We are available all over Ontario.
5. Take an Ice bath, while you have a cold Craft beer
Ice baths are very good for repairing damaged muscle fibers. During a heated game of hockey muscle fibers tend to break. And why not have a cold beer while you’re in the bath eh?
6. Have a good amount of protein after a game.
Protein is a must after a game to support muscle synthesis. Having a protein rich meal after a hockey game will also allow you to build muscle mass, which is always a plus.
7. Have a good amount of carbs after a game
Carbohydrates support recovery better than any other macro-nutrients can. The moment you finish your game of hockey, the food you eat is all in preparation for your next game.
8. Drink lots and lots of beer. Especially Craft Beer
Beer after a game is a ritual most people will never leave in the past. Why not make is different and instead of drinking regular beers like ‘’Molson Canadian’’ or ‘’Coors Light’’, you should get Craft Beer. Craft beer is better since it’s made in a much smaller volume allowing no margin of error in the brewing. There are plenty of craft beer companies in your town, even if you live in small communities in Oakville and many other small communities in Ontario.
9. Get at least 8 hours of sleep.
Sleep is very crucial to a speedy recovery. While you sleep your body starts its recovery process allowing you to be fit for the next day. On the other hand, if you do not get enough sleep you will be tired and sore from the day before.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!
10. Make sure you drink water, LOTS of water.
Dehydration can really hinder your performance while playing any sport. Studies show that you should drink 0.5oz per 1 pond of body weight. So, if you weigh 200lbs, you should be drinking 100oz of water.
