The Story Behind PSB Fitness: A Student Gym in Mississauga
Two PSB graduates, Jessie and Matt, created PSB Fitness, both with over 5 years’ experience in the fitness field and a similar vision to create a fitness experience designed for students.The idea of PSB Fitness started when Jessie and Matt noticed a problem most Sheridan students were facing. They struggled to find a nearby gym that meets their needs because of expensive memberships, inadequate facilities or locations. This motivated Jessie and Matt to startup something within the Sheridan Campus itself.
The goal was to cause students always have an opportunity to work out and stay fit. Students can visit the gym during breaks and in between classes. This gives no reasons at all not to make this a part of their routine. We understand students have a load of responsibilities such as keeping up with classes, assignments and work responsibilities which is where PSB Fitness comes in offering flexible membership options and a convenient location, making it easier for students to include fitness into their everyday lives.
Balancing School/Work with Fitness
One of the biggest challenges students face is finding time to exercise consistently. It mostly feels like after attending classes, and doing everything school related, and working part-time shifts, the day is over and there is no time left to work out. This is false because having a fit lifestyle doesn’t need you to spend hours in the gym every day.
